Welcome to Aspen Park Poodles
At Aspen Park Poodles, we are a registered CKC breeder located in Edmonton, Alberta. We breed moyen and small standard poodles in red, red abstract, and apricot - not too big and not too small. We expect most of them to be about 22–27 lbs fully grown.
Our first priority is raising happy, healthy puppies bred for quality, health, and temperament, with loving personalities and a strong foundation for life with their forever families. For us, breeding is about so much more than producing puppies. It is about thoughtfully raising each baby from the moment they are born and giving them the very best start possible.
Raised in Our Home, Surrounded by Family
One of the greatest blessings of our breeding program is that I am a stay-at-home mom, which allows me the opportunity to be with our puppies around the clock. From those very first days, I am there to monitor, care for, cuddle, and get to know each puppy individually.
Our puppies aren't raised in a separate facility away from our family. They grow up right in our home, surrounded by the sounds, routines, love, and gentle activity of everyday family life.
We are also blessed with four beautiful children, who absolutely adore our puppies. As the puppies grow and become ready for more interaction, our children help provide lots of gentle, loving socialization. They experience different voices, gentle handling, cuddles, and the joyful energy that comes with being part of a busy family.
We believe growing up surrounded by family gives our puppies wonderful opportunities to experience the sights, sounds, and interactions of everyday home life.
Thoughtful Early Experiences
Early Neurological Stimulation - Day 3 to Day 16
From Day 3 through Day 16, we incorporate Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) into our puppies' daily routine.
ENS consists of five gentle, brief exercises:
-
Tactile Stimulation - Gently stimulating the puppy between the toes with a soft cotton swab.
-
Head Held Erect - Holding the puppy upright with their head above their body for a few seconds.
-
Head Pointed Down - Gently holding the puppy with their head pointed downward for a few seconds.
-
Supine Position - Carefully holding the puppy on their back for a few seconds.
-
Thermal Stimulation - Providing a brief experience with a cool, damp cloth while safely supporting the puppy.
These exercises are performed gently and for very short periods, always with the puppies' comfort and wellbeing as our priority.
Enrichment From 3–6 Weeks
As our puppies reach approximately 3-6 weeks of age, their world begins to expand. We introduce a variety of age-appropriate enrichment experiences that encourage exploration and curiosity.
-
Snuffle mats
-
Puppy tunnels
-
Different textures and surfaces
-
New sounds and household experiences
-
Gentle grooming experiences
-
Age-appropriate toys and activities
We allow our puppies to explore these experiences at their own pace, creating positive and enjoyable interactions without overwhelming them.
As they grow, we also begin introducing crate training and potty-training foundations, helping prepare them for the transition into their forever homes.
Throughout this process, we carefully observe each puppy and get to know their individual personalities, preferences, and little quirks. This allows us to help our families find the puppy who is the best fit for their lifestyle.
Our Commitment to Our Families
Choosing a puppy is a very special decision, and we want our families to feel confident and supported throughout the process.
We provide regular updates, photos, and videos so our families can watch their puppy grow and begin getting to know their little one before coming home.
Each puppy also leaves Aspen Park Poodles with a thoughtfully prepared puppy package to help make their transition into their new home as special as possible.
Our goal isn't simply to place puppies in homes. Our goal is to create lifelong matches between our puppies and their families.
A Little Piece of Our Heart
Every puppy born at Aspen Park Poodles is deeply loved before they ever leave our arms.
Being able to stay home and dedicate so much time to our puppies is something I never take for granted. From those first precious days and ENS exercises to the first tiny tail wags, first wobbly steps, first adventures through a puppy tunnel, and first cuddles, we are blessed to be there for all of their milestones.
And when the time finally comes for them to leave for their forever homes, we know they are taking a little piece of our family with them.
Thank you for considering Aspen Park Poodles and for trusting us with such an important addition to your family.
